Nolano S.r.l. is an Italian agricultural and tomato processing company based in Acerra, near Naples, in the Campania region. The company's history dates back to the early 1960s, when Ciro Nolano founded the family farming activity dedicated to tomato cultivation.

For more than 60 years and through three generations, the Nolano family has developed particular expertise in the cultivation and processing of Pomodoro San Marzano dell'Agro Sarnese-Nocerino DOP, one of Italy's best-known preserved tomato specialties.

Nolano controls the entire supply chain, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and commercialization, with a strong focus on product origin, traceability, environmental responsibility and the preservation of the characteristics of tomatoes grown in the volcanic soils of Campania.

Its tomato products are intended for retail, restaurants, pizzerias, foodservice operators and international markets.

History & Production

Nolano's history began in the early 1960s with the agricultural activity established by Ciro Nolano. Over the following decades, the family expanded its expertise in tomato cultivation and increasingly focused on the quality and identity of local Campanian varieties.

The company later adopted organic farming practices and developed a fully integrated supply chain for San Marzano DOP tomatoes. The objective is to maintain control over quality from the field to the finished product.

San Marzano tomatoes are grown on selected company-owned land in the Agro Nolano. The fruits are harvested by hand at the correct stage of ripeness and processed within a few hours in specialized facilities located close to the cultivation area.

This short distance between field and processing facility helps Nolano preserve the freshness, texture and organoleptic characteristics of the harvested tomatoes.
